Please help me reach my fundraising goal for ANZUP Cancer Trials Group
Clinical trial research is the only way that we can help improve outcomes for people like our daughter Bec who was diagnosed with a Below the Belt Cancer. To help raise much needed funds I have joined this years 2020 Below the Belt #YourWay Challenge. My part of the challenge is to walk 150kms in the month of September and to support this goal I am hoping that you can help me by donating to this special cause using the 'Give Now' button. The more people that know about ANZUP and the work that they do, the greater their impact will be in helping other families like ours in the future. So please also spread the word by sharing my page with your friends and family.
Thank you in advance for your generosity, it means a lot and always appreciate the support that you offer to our family in memory of Bec. xx

Congratulations and thanks so much for all the hard work of the ANZUP team, for the idea and making #YourWay happen.
It has been a great challenge to be involved in and fantastic to see so many people join up from many states and a few international challengers.
For Tony and I being able to participate at the level we did together was lots of fun and a very positive focus as it is “Just the 2 of Us “ as we deal with Melbourne’s lockdown. Neither of us can believe the kms that we have walked and shed a few kilos into the bargain while helping to contribute some $$ towards that great fundraising total that can be put to good use for clinical trial research.
Hope to see the challenge continue in 2021 - we will be back - just wondering what we are going to next in our 5km zone ! We’ve done all of Lysterfield!!
DAY 27 - 300 kms walking target achieved today.Sunday 27th Sep
Feeling a bit chuffed and very stuffed ☺️. We’ve walked another 32 kms this weekend and I’ve reached my stretch target today of 300kms, with Tony now on 246 kms.
When your legs and feet are sore it’s easy (well nearly) to keep going when you reflect on why you are doing the #YourWay challenge - to raise funds and awareness for clinical trial research for @belowthebelt #cancer patients. They too suffer pain and are tired throughout their treatments but they have no choice but to dig in and keep forging on while hoping for remission or buying time in hope that other treatments in clinical trials continue to improve outcomes. Our Bec was brave, rarely complained and we will do anything to help other patients and their families have better opportunities in the future by supporting the great work by @ANZUP Cancer Trials Group.
We have been wonderfully supported by our family and friends towards reaching our fundraising goals but any further support would be gratefully appreciated with only a few days left of this #YourWay challenge. https://www.belowthebelt.org.au/fundraisers/belindajago/yourway2020Share
DAY 14Monday 14th Sep
DAY 14 - Tony and I have continued to walk many #YourWaykms in the second week and hope to get to 250Kms by the end of Sept - an extra 100kms on what we set out to do.
I had initially thought about sitting this activity out. It has been a long hard winter in Melbourne - being home since mid March, It was a year where there were many special milestones to be celebrated – all cancelled but hopefully in 2021 we will start to catch up ! We miss our life and although we are way better off than many people we just felt very flat and very unmotivated. This whole COVID pandemic took us back to when Bec was diagnosed with kidney cancer in 2006 and for the next 5 years we had to learn to deal with uncertainty change and no long term planning - you feel that you have lost control of your life and now it was happening again.
But for those that know me I’m not good at sitting on my hands and decided that I should support the #YourWaycampaign in a more active way than what I was doing and would regret it if I passed up the opportunity.
So I’m very happy to say that I am really glad that we joined up to be part of the #YourWay challenge. It has really improved our daily focus in a very positive way as we deal with the Melbourne #lockdown blues. #gettingfit #fewblistersAND importantly we are helping to raise much needed funds for clinical trial research.
Tony and I have called our team Just the 2 of Us and thank once again the many family and friends who have supported us so far to help clinical trial research into these #belowthebeltcancers to help improve the lives of families with a loved one like our beautiful Bec.Share
Day 12 100km achieved today 🏃🏻♀️🏃🏻♀️🏃🏻♀️🏃🏃🏃Saturday 12th Sep
Day 7 #YourWay 2020Monday 7th Sep
Day 7 done and dusted for this years Below the Belt #YourWay 2020 Challenge as e head into curfew for the night 😷😷! Only 23 days to go !! I had challenged myself to walk 🏃🏻♀️🏃🏻♀️a minimum of 150kms and very happy to report that I’m on target to achieve my stretch goal of 200kms. Tony has joined in the challenge as well and we have walked the streets of Lysterfield and lucky for us our 5km zone allows us to walk in the lovely Lysterfield National Park as well. I also gratefully thank all the family and friends who have chipped in and sponsored this event. Raising funds is vitally important to help ANZUP run clinical trials to answer questions that may help improve outcomes for #belowthebelt #cancers. We could not do this work without your support. 🥰. Have a good week and stay safe.
