Do I need to obtain Aus Cycling insurance for this event?

add remove

This event has been sanctioned by Aus Cycling and as a condition of this sanction all riders must obtain Aus Cycling ride membership to participate in this event.

For those who do not have Aus Cycling ride membership or cycling insurance, ANZUP will organise a day pass for you.

Do I have to ride for all 3 hours?

add remove

No. It’s up to you and your team to decide how long you ride for, and how often you change riders.

Also, depends on your competitive nature.

Where will I be based on the day?

add remove

Every team is allocated a shared garage area. These have tables, chairs, snacks and access to electrolyte water.  If you want to share a garage with another team, just let us know.

Is there parking at the event?

add remove

Yes, there is ample free parking onsite.

How old do I need to be to participate?

add remove

Participation is limited to people aged 16 and over. As this is an open cycling challenge there will be over 150 riders of varying skill levels participating so for the safety of all we need all riders to be fully capable of controlling their bike without supervision.

If you would like to bring along your younger children or any of your family as spectators they will be welcome in the pit lanes and your allocated garage.

Fundraising

Where does the money go?

add remove

Every cent we raise through Below the Belt events and our supporters' kind donations goes directly towards clinical trial research via the Below the Belt Research Fund.

Since 2015, Below the Belt has raised over $2 million for below the belt cancer research.

All of the major milestones in controlling cancer worldwide have come through clinical trials, but we still have a long way to go to help every person affected, at risk or diagnosed with this disease.

Our Below the Belt Research Fund has helped our clinicians kick start new trial ideas. To date, seed funding has been awarded to 36 ANZUP members to help gather the evidence needed to develop full scale clinical research studies.

Do I have to fundraise?

add remove

The minimum amount each rider should fundraise is $500, but we know you can do better than that.

Will I receive a tax invoice?

add remove

How do I thank someone who has donated to me?

When you receive a donation, you will receive an email letting you know. We encourage you to thank your Donors for their support. You can do this via your profile.
