About Below the Below the Belt Pedalthon

The Below the Belt Pedalthon was founded in 2013 to promote awareness of four highly prevalent but "less glamorous" cancers - testicular, prostate, bladder and kidney cancers - and, in doing so, provide ANZUP with the criticial funds to improve the lives of so many Australians.

Founded by cancer survivor Simon Clarke, he was shocked that these four cancers still account for more than 16% of all new cases diagnosed in Australia.

Your support will help change how we view, act, respond to and treat these cancers - in addition to raising cricitical funds through the Below the Belt Pedalthon event.

These past two years have been proof of the tremendous support and generosity from the community.  The funds raised in 2015 has allowed ANZUP to launch the Below the Belt Research Fund and we are excited to see where the journey takes us this year.

If you'd like to be a part of this, just get on your bike, grab a team and start pedalling with us. It's that simple!

Who is ANZUP?

The Australian and New Zealand Urogenital and Prostate Cancer Trials Group (ANZUP) was established in 2008 with a mission to conduct high-quality clinical research to improve the lives of people with urogenital and prostate cancers.

We know many treatments for urogential and prostate cancers can have a devastating effect on on an individual's quality of life. Identifiying new treatments and better ways of caring for people diagnosed with these cancers requires rigorous clinical research and it is our challenge to undertake high-quality research that will make a difference.

Through the years, ANZUP has clearly demonstrated its value and promise by performing investigator-initiated clinicial trials, developed by our members, both nationally and internationally across the range of genitourinary cancers.

We continue to build on our impressive multidisciplinary membership while developing very strong relationships with other peak bodies such as the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia, Cancer Councils, the national cancer cooperative trials groups, COSA, Kidney Health Australia as well as Government and Industry.
